This whole thing started in a bathroom in Bangkok.
Heated seat. Warm water. A little remote on the wall. Two weeks of that and something clicks — you realise the thing you've done every day of your life has been quietly rubbish, and nobody told you.
Then you fly home to Australia. Cold seat. Roll of paper. Good luck.
Why doesn't Australia have these?
Most of the world sorted this out decades ago. Japan, Korea, most of Southeast Asia, the Middle East, southern Europe — water, not paper. Australia just never got around to it. Not because anyone decided against it. It simply never turned up in a form anyone wanted to put in their house.
The ones that are here are sold like plumbing fixtures. Beige catalogues, part numbers, a showroom in an industrial estate. Nobody has ever made one you'd actually want to own.
So we're making one
Cheeky is a bidet brand for people who've had one overseas and can't unfeel it. Four products, one for every stage of that realisation:
- Go — $49. Fits in a bag. For travel, and for finding out if you're a bidet person.
- Bondi — $199. A proper bidet seat. No power needed, renter friendly.
- Byron — $799. Warm water, heated seat, dryer. The one you got used to overseas.
- Throne — the complete smart toilet. Coming when it's right, not before.
What we'll be straight about
A bidet needs a licensed plumber in Australia. We say so on every product page rather than selling you a fantasy about a ten-minute DIY install. We tell you the Bondi is cold water and why. We tell you to buy the cheap one first if you're unsure.
It's a toilet seat. Nobody needs to be oversold a toilet seat.
